Market Photoshoot
Most seasons, Liz from Elizabeth Mollica Photography, and I team up and create an epic shoot. Last year we did the traditional fall mums and pumpkins in an antique truck. I absolutely loved that shoot but wanted something different for this fall. When we create a shoot, we aim to offer an experience no one else is offering. We try and give you a completely different look season after season and year after year.
Inspiration
For months now, even possibly since last year, I knew I wanted to offer a market shoot. Something about the handmade goods, local produce and fresh offerings makes me feel so happy and whole. We wanted the families to feel like they rolled up on a farm stand complete with fresh cut flowers and yes, we even used produce as them main styling pieces. Keeping with our dedication to support local, we sourced all of our vegetables and flowers from Holmestead Harvest out of east bridgewater (which is also where I do most of my grocery shopping - they deliver and do subscription boxes - check them out on facebook for weekly offerings - yes this is a shameless plug for a business I love).
Colors
When picking colors, I really wanted to center it around colors you find naturally occurring in the fall. That’s why I was adamant on local wild flowers and even picked goldenrod stems from my back field. I found a clay colored blanket from target I loved that I wanted to incorporate as well, thus the golden and clay color palate was born. You can get the blanket in different sizes linked here ! For the same color but extra chunky knit, go here .
Sources
Most of the items on hand I already had. The stand was repurposed after we got it free from one of Liz’s friends in the industry. The crocks and antique metal buckets are things I collect from my favorite local pickers (read the blog post regarding road trash for my favorite spots to grab things of that nature). I got the metal clock that is made to look like an antique scale from decor steals, I have been using them for years and seriously guys, its a gold mine. Sorry ahead of time for the hundreds of packages that will inevitably arrive at your doorstep now. My husband built me the 3 tier produce stand and I found the bushel baskets after hunting them down at multiple different Michael’s. The scalloped chalkboard was also a Michael’s find. The metal tool box holding the wildflowers is an older Hearth and Hand item. The assorted mason jars and milk bottles are from my pantry. I grab terra-cotta pots regularly; I love to find used ones with patina and also stock up at ocean state every year with new ones. I always take a bunch to have on hand at a shoot incase I need to add one in or cover something up with one! You will see them in all of my designed shoots I’ve done and they always are a perfect addition.
